IWC Portuguese history

The Portuguese watch commemorates to those navigators discoverers of new continents. In the Thirties of century XX two Portuguese retailers, Rodriguez and Texeira, obtained that IWC made the first IWC Portuguese wristwatch creating the flattest mechanism until then with caliber 74. In 1993 a limited special series made, to which later followed the Chrono-ratrapante Portuguese, the Portuguese Repetition of minutes, the Chrono-automatic Portuguese and the Portuguese Automatic 2000 with automatic device of IWC calibrates 5000. Caliber 5000 is impressive with 286 mechanical pieces in 37 groups and 44 rubies.



IWC Portuguese Chrono-Automatic

Without any doubt, my favorite is the Portuguese who appears in the photo the one in steel Chrono-Automatic Portuguese. It has a mechanism of mechanical cronógraph with automatic cord, a small secundero with shutdown device, crystal of convex sapphire and is impermeable up to 30 meters. IWC: THE PILOT WATCH
